Ride Around Nipissing

Run the RAN

The RAN Tour is located within the boundaries of District 11, one of Ontario’s oldest loop rides, the Ride Around Nipissing (RAN) is intended to be a self guided tour showcasing the beautiful scenery, wilderness, and unique communities around Lake Nipissing, one of Ontario’s largest lakes.

The trails are a varied mix of rural, forest, river, and lake venues which provide a well rounded and interesting snowmobile experience.  If you feel so inclined, you can extend your stay and explore world class snowmobiling on 2000 km’s of trail within District 11, branching out in all directions from the heart of the tour, Lake Nipissing. It’s possible to ride the RAN without ever seeing Lake Nipissing. If doing so is on your bucket list, then the best option is to ride SSR 703, taking you along the stake line at the east end of the lake along the North Bay waterfront. Keep in mind surrounding communities are small and may close early, so plan ahead for food and accommodation and be sure your fuel is topped up often.

Some of the tour highlights include the impressive spans of the Pickerel & French River bridges, built and specifically maintained for snowmobile use. Riding along the waterfront of the City of North Bay, with easy access to good food and accomodations or slowing the ride for a gander at the wildlife through the Port Loring Deer yards!
